What do you think of the three land use alternatives proposed for the El Camino Real Corridor? Which one do you prefer?
We now have a Draft Vision Statement for the Sunnyvale El Camino Real Corridor Plan (ECR Plan). It incorporates efforts and input received over the last year. Now, we’re ready for more feedback on the three resulting options for the corridor. The Draft Vision Statement will be refined as the ECR Plan is developed.
In order to ensure that the final ECR Plan sets the stage for the type of changes that have the broadest community support, we need your input.
Wherever you see this bubble icon, you can click and share your input.
The ECR Plan has been the subject of much discussion over the last year. We have hosted a Community Workshop, six ECR Plan Advisory Committee meetings and study sessions with the Planning Commission and City Council. We've also held pop-up workshops at community events and have received feedback through Open City Hall on Guiding Principles for the ECR Plan. The community interest in the project has been amazing!
The three options range from a focus on commercial development, just like in the existing 2007 Precise Plan, to a focus on allowing more residential development and to one that is a mixture of the two.
We want your feedback about these options and your preference. Your input will be provided to City Council in February/March, along with previous input, to inform their decision on which option should be studied, refined and included in the ECR Plan.
The key question we'd like you to answer is, “Which option do you support and why?”
Other questions to consider as you review the options and provide feedback:
- How do you use El Camino Real?
- Is it primarily for moving through the City or do you go there for shopping or dining?
- How do you get to El Camino Real? Drive? Transit? Walk? Bike?
- Do you want to see El Camino Real transition into a different kind of corridor in the coming years? Why or why not?
Descriptions are presented for each option, and you can see a side-by-side comparison of the key features here.
